Celebrating 325 Years - Reception and Lecture

On Thursday, September 21 at the Presbyterian Historical Society (PHS), the Commemoration Committee is sponsoring a garden reception followed by a lecture by Heath W. Carter. Ph.D., Associate Professor of American Christianity, Princeton Theological Seminary.

  • The Reception: 5:30 to 7:00 PM outdoors in the garden in front of PHS, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather it will be in the PHS Reading Room.

  • The Lecture: 7 PM in the PHS Reading Room. Dr Carter’s lecture is titled “Steadfast through the Storms: A Lecture on the 325th Anniversary of Philadelphia’s First Presbyterian Church.”

Space is limited for this event; RSVP is required! Please register here, or call the church office (215-567-0532) no later than September 19 if you plan to attend.

The Presbyterian Historical Society is at 425 Lombard Street. There is a limited amount of parking behind the PHS building; entry to the parking lot is on 5th Street, between Pine and Lombard Streets.  There is a public parking garage on Lombard Street between 3rd and 4th Streets, just two blocks from PHS.
